Leave of Absence
A leave of absence is a period of time when an employee is allowed to take extended time off from their job, usually for significant personal reasons like medical issues, family emergencies, childbirth, military service, or further education, while still maintaining their employment status
If you are going to be on a Medical Leave of Absence (a personal leave does not qualify) for 30 consecutive days or longer, you can request to suspend your Union dues.
Follow these steps:
-
Call the Union office at 714-502-0220 to advise us of the first day of your MLOA.
-
When you are ready to return, call the office again to provide your return to work date.
-
Please call the union office a few days before you return to confirm that the return date is noted.
It is IMPORTANT that you make sure that Union dues deductions restart when you return to work, as owing dues can result in a membership suspension.
If you don't see deductions within the next couple of weeks of calling us or if you have any questions, please call the Union office.
